Technical Weaver
ScotWeave Technical Weaver is an exciting new product for the creation of complex technical fabrics. The software supports the creation of everything from simple single cloth structures to complex layered architectures, containing stacking orders, stuffers and variable densities. Orthogonal and Angle Interlock structures are also fully supported. Any weave, on up to 64 shafts for dobby, or 12,000 plus hooks for jacquard can be created, viewed and production data sent directly to the loom.
The 3D weave schematic allows initial assessment of architecture performance. Real time dynamic movement of the viewpoint allows the woven preform to be analysed from all angles. Rotate an individual or selection of groups, to view interlacings from the top, through the cross-section, from beneath, in warp or weft directions or from a corner. Weave 3D is an ideal tool for in-house architecture development and presentation.

Fabricator
ScotWeave Fabricator is a new product in CAD, which analyses dobby woven fabric samples and produces the construction details, in electronic data format, for that sample. Fabricator can be used to convert your fabric archive to computer data format or to analyse single fabric samples as required. Fabricator represents the culmination of over 18 months research and development supported by the SMART Award presented to ScotWeave in November 2001.
Fabricator uses a standard Windows®-compatible scanner to scan the dobby fabric and create a high resolution image in memory for subsequent processing. Place the fabric on the scanner table then scan the fabric. Once scanned, the fabric image will be displayed on the screen and you can check and adjust the alignment of the image to ensure best possible result.

ScotColor
ScotColor is an optional software extra which modifies the way that ScotWeave uses colour information. With ScotColor installed you can create colour data using CIE Colour Coordinates and use the colour calibration facilities built-in to ScotColor to ensure accurate colour reproduction on screen and on a range of approved colour printers. With ScotColor installed on two different sites you can send ScotWeave designs between sites confident that the colours will look the same at both locations.
With ScotColor installed you can use accurate measured colour data (from a spectrophotometer) to create yarn shades and to display colour on screen and automatically on the printer. This avoids problems of matching screen colours to printer colours (see Colour Matching)

Archiver
ScotWeave Archiver is an image archiving product that allows you to organise your computer design data the way you want it. Using an integrated database you can categorise designs (ScotWeave designs and any standard image files) to suit the way you work. Archiver will also extract database information automatically for you - based upon colour analysis and design data analysis.
The database structure can be setup by the user so that you can select your own criteria for categorisng images. Although this does take some initial planning, once implemented it leaves you in full control of how your images are organised rather than imposing a predetermined database structure on your design work.

ScotCom- Design Communications
ScotCom is one of several new ScotWeave products which open up the possibilities of the Internet to users. ScotCom is a web-enabled design communication system which puts you in full control of your design data. You can use ScotCom as an in-house system for design communication between different geographical sites or you can use ScotCom as a means of supplying controlled design data to your clients or suppliers. You decide what information each user is allowed to see.
You have full control of the system and can decide which users can only browse the images, which users can open designs on the web server, and which users can open and also save design to the web server. Using a system of user identities and secure passwords you can divert different users to different locations on the web server and keep their data separate.
